By clicking below, I acknowledge that the estimate provided using this calculator does not represent
a final determination, or actual award, of financial assistance, or a final net cost.
This is only an ESTIMATE based on cost of attendance (estimated tuition and fees, estimated room and board,
estimated books and supplies, estimated transportation, estimated personal expenses and estimated cost of
a computer.) Both cost of attendance and financial aid amounts can change from previous years. The estimates
produced by this calculator shall not be binding on the U. S. Secretary of Education, the Commonwealth of Virginia or
Virginia Tech. Actual awards will depend on a more precise determination of the expected family contribution
through the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and available funding sources and
amounts coupled with other appropriate individual eligibility factors.
Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to be eligible for,
and receive, an actual financial aid award that includes Federal grant, loan, or work-study assistance.

Please Note: The estimates above apply to full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduate students only.
Not all students receive grant and scholarship aid. In 2010-11, 46% of our full-time students enrolling
for college for the first time received grant/scholarship aid. Students may also be eligible
for student loans and work-study. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA) in order to determine their eligibility for Federal financial aid that includes
Federal grant, loan, or work-study assistance. For more information on applying for
Federal student aid, go to

Please be aware this is not a financial aid application. Additionally, this calculator is anonymous
and no data you enter on this calculator will be stored by Virginia Tech.
SPECIAL TO VIRGINIA
TECH: Unlike some other colleges and universities, Virginia Tech requires a computer of all new students
so the cost of attendance includes a one-time allowance of $2,500 toward the purchase of a computer.
Any financial aid offered to a student in an actual financial aid package, regardless of source, is
subject to availability and actual receipt by Virginia Tech.
The academic colleges within the
university offer select scholarships. Students should review their academic program's web-site for
further information on these select scholarships. Students interested in athletic scholarships should
contact the appropriate coach.
